My Weekend Plans

What am I doing this weekend?  Glad you asked.

Today, some family friend’s of Sean’s mom’s kids are getting married.  (We actually do see them at Christmas.)  I won’t be going because Penny won’t take a bottle and isn’t eating much solids yet, so I really can’t leave her very long.  Certainly not from 4 in the afternoon until after a wedding and reception.  So, Sean is going.  I will be home alone with the kids.  Again.

Tomorrow is my sister-in-law’s birthday party.  We’re going to C&O’s, a cute Italian restaurant in Venice with killer garlic rolls (they’re actually called killer garlic rolls) and penne spinaci.  Delicious!  I love that restaurant.  If you’re in L.A., the line outside is well-deserved.  Definitely check it out.  So, we’re going out to dinner there.   Except, Samantha just spiked a 101 fever that I can only assume is the same virus Ella just finished with and took 3 days for her to get over.  So, I will be home alone with the kids tomorrow night.  Again.

So to recap.  Sean is going to a wedding and a lovely dinner out of the house.  Thereby getting out of the house two whole times in a week, with adults.   Not to mention his usual four days at work.  With adults.    I, who apparently has been banned from interacting with people who do not pick their noses and then eat the boogers, will be staying at home.  Again.

If you’re bored and looking for something to do, how about leaving me a comment?  I promise to respond in kind and I can at least have virtual interaction with an adult.

Your grown-up conversation is here. I can try to be grown up anyway :) So what are you reading while you’re up with your kids?

    Hi Jaded,
I can always count on you. :) I wish I was reading something right now. Not enough time. The last thing I read was “Coal Run” by Tawni O’Dell. Enjoyable. I tried to read a novel set up as a group of travelers stranded in an airport telling each other stories, but I couldn’t get into it. It was Tokyo grounded or something like that. I actually am reading “Write Tight” intermittently, but not in a few weeks. What are you reading?

I’m reading a really good book right now — Alice Sebold’s ‘The Almost Moon’. There’s actually no likable character in the book but she STILL manages to make it all work. You should give Sebold A try; she does so much with just a few words — not unlike you :)I loved ‘Coal Run’ too!

I will give her a try. I feel a trip to the library in my future. Thanks for the rec (and compliment, at least that’s how I’m taking it :)).
