So Grown Up

This morning I was having a cup of tea.  Any beverage that goes in a mug is a big deal in our house.  Sean and I do not regularly drink coffee (hard to believe I know) or tea.  The girls’ main exposure to mugs is when my parents stay over about once a month and have a cup of coffee in the morning.  They are fascinated by mugs and the hot beverages in them.  They frequently pretend they are drinking tea, or making tea, or having a cup of coffee. This morning’s conversation about my cup of tea went like this.

Ella:  Me bigger, me drink you tea Mommy.

Me:  You’re going to drink tea when you’re older?

Ella:  (Nods vigoriusly)

Sammy:  Me too!  I’m going to drink tea when I’m older.  Maybe when I’m six.  Ella, are you gonna drink tea when you’re three?

Ella:   Yeah! (nodding vigorously)

Sammy:  Well, you can’t!  Not until you’re six!

Ah, the grown-up age of six.  Can’t wait.
