Penny is my drama queen. And by that, I mean she’s a ham. She likes to make people laugh. She’ll make funny noises over and over again if it gets a reaction. She’s a flirt. On the plane rides to and from Hawaii she made friends with the people around us, playing peekaboo, giving high fives, smiling, and laughing with them. On the ride home, the people around us held her as we were landing because she was screaming with me. With them, she was “on”, hamming it up the whole way down. They didn’t even seem to mind that shortly after the seat belt sign came on, she filled her diaper. Of course.
I’m afraid if we don’t leave L.A., she’s going to want to become an actress. She’s already working on her acting skills. I think she’s ready for a B horror film. A lot of actors have started out there, Johnny Depp in A Nightmare on Elm Street, Jennifer Aniston in Leprechaun , and Demi Moore in Parasite. Penelope is getting ready for Hollywood to call.
Here is some of her early work, so you can say you knew her when.
This is her “sleeping”. Horror movies always have the victims sleeping in some creepy place. It’s hard to do, pretend to sleep on command. Here, Penelope shows she’s mastered that skill as well as the ability to take direction.
Of course, the key to being a good B horror movie actress is the scream/chase scene and the “surprise” reaction when you suddenly realize the demon zombie vampire serial killer has caught you.
Here she is demonstrating both talents. Notice how she really sells the moment where you think she’s safe and has gotten away.
And then the phone rings. Perfect timing.
She’s going to be famous and you can say you knew her when she was first starting out.
Do you have any hams in your family?
