We had a crazy week last week. The new intern class started at Sean’s work the last couple weeks, which means he worked 20 out of the last 21 days. (He had Father’s Day off.) That means I was extra busy with the girls and there was a lot going on.
On Monday, Ella had her end of the year concert at preschool. There were no tears, she stayed on stage the whole time, and even managed to sing a couple times. Even though it was hot and there was no air conditioning, it was an overall good night.
Sean got off work early to go and he made faces at her, that she mimicked.
Tuesday night was Sammy’s turn at the end of the year concert. We were so proud of her. The first three concerts she had in preschool, she cried and sat with us in the audience. This time, not only did she sing, play an instrument (okay, bang on a xylophone), but she had a solo! It was one line, but still, she stood up in front of a large audience and sang loudly, with no tears.
On Wednesday morning, Sammy had her preschool graduation. It’s seems so long ago that she was two and we dropped her off at preschool for the first time. She had a hard transition. She cried every day for the first four months and voluntarily took naps instead of playing with the other kids. Now she’s five and getting ready to start kindergarten.
Sunday was Sammy’s birthday party which means I was also finalizing the party details and getting everything ready last week as well. A lot of fun was had at the party and I’ll post some pictures another day. But right now, I’m going to collapse for a few days and try to stop time for a little while before my kids grow up on me and I miss it.
