From A cups To Ice Cream Cups

Guys, and by guys, I mean Dad, not a post for you today. Read at your own risk.

Ok, ladies, can we talk about bras for a minute?  Most of us wear them, and statistically, most of us wear the wrong size.  After kids, well, things change, and sometimes maybe we keep wearing our pre-baby bras. That doesn’t always work out that well.  No one likes having back fat squishing out over their bra, or the girls popping out the top or sides, and definitely no good to be in a bra and not get enough, well, lift.

Really, we should be getting professional bra fittings to make sure we’re getting the most out of our bras.   When was the last time you had a professional bra fitting? Has it been a while like it has for  me?

If you’re in the Los Angeles area, that could change for you.  Skinny Cow is hosting The Perfect Cup event August 27 and 28.  You can register on their facebook page for a time slot to receive a bra fitting and a free bra!  And while you’re there finding your perfect cup, you can enjoy some Skinny Cow ice cream cups as well.

Skinny Cow is partnering with Dress for Success to support and encourage disadvantaged women across the nation through monetary and product donations, and ultimately helping them find their “perfect fit” in life.

The event is free, but you do need to register ahead of time for a fitting time.  I’ll be there and I’ll let you know how it went and if I’m wearing the right size or not.   If you’re nearby, sign up and have some ice cream and find your perfect cup(s).

I’m coming, I’ll bunk in with Penny.
I’ve had several fittings and the (annoying) sales people assure me that all women have the back fat squishing over the top of the band. I feel otherwise.
Sadly the bras that don’t squish require us to remortgage our house.

I’m setting up the crib with two pillows now.

The good bras are really expensive, but I agree, squishing shouldn’t be happening. There’s a place in LA I’ve been wanting to try, The Wizard of Bras. Apparently, the fitters there are amazing and they have hundreds of bras in hundreds of sizes. But, expensive. We’ll see how next weekend goes.

Counter-intuitively, you probably need a smaller band size to avoid to squishing. Too loose a band will ride up, and drag normal flesh into abnormal positions.

I’m excited for the follow up to your fitting(s)!

That is counter-intuitive. It’s definitely hard to size myself. Bras are surprisingly complicated. Thanks for stopping by! Can’t wait for the follow up myself. Hoping to find a bra I love. :)

That post wasn’t that bad. Why was I not supposed to read it?
At first, I was concerned that you were talking about our girls growing up and needing bras already. I would’ve flipped out about that. =)
