Seitan Stir Fry: A Vlog

We’re making seitan stir fry today. I’m so excited about seitan, I even made a video.

What is seitan? (Pronounced say-tan.) It’s wheat gluten.  It’s made by washing wheat flour dough until all the starch is gone, leaving the kind of gelatinous gluten.  It tastes like dark meat chicken. Or duck. You can find it in Asian markets, health food stores, Whole Foods, and similar places.

Ingredients:

1 lb seitan- seasoned chicken style

1 TBSP olive oil for sauteing the seitan

2 tsp. cornstarch

1 bag frozen mixed veggies – whatever kind you like

Brown rice – cooked, as much as you like, probably 1/2 -1 c. per person

      Ha, I don’t know about cute, but thanks. :) I was thinking about you when I made this and how you wouldn’t be able to eat it. Of course, you could easily make it with chicken.
