I sometimes get a little obsessed with things. I’ll be suddenly really into something and I can’t leave it alone. Here are my current obsessions.
I have been a craft-a-holic lately. I’ve been crocheting and sewing like a fiend lately. I’ve made pajamas for Sammy, dresses for all three girls, a crochet bag for myself. I’m enjoying it as a creative outlet right now. My writing is suffering because of it, but I’m enjoying making things without having to think too hard about them.
If you’re not on Pinterest, you should be. It is so much fun! The idea is simple. You have boards, like corkboards, that you “pin” things you like on. The pins are articles or recipes or ideas from the web so you always have access to them. It’s a place to keep those cool things you find and then can never remember where they were when you want to use them. You can also pin decorating ideas or clothing or jewelry you find but maybe aren’t quite ready to buy. You follow people and see what they pin and then repin it. It’s tons of fun. You can follow me on Pinterest here.
My very favorite find on Pinterest right now is this Chia Seed Pudding. It’s chocolatey goodness, actually healthy, vegan, andtotally satisfies my chocolate/sweet cravings at night.
3. My new kicks
I just got these. I ordered them on E-Bay after I saw them on the feet of one of the writer’s in my writing class. Hi Tracy. BTW, Tracy recently started blogging at Tracy Lane is not a Virgin. Head over. She’s hilarious. (And a little R rated sometimes, in case you’re sensitive, and couldn’t figure that out by the title.)
I am not a shoe person. I don’t see the draw of them. But when I saw these, I had to have them. Sean thinks they’re hideous. They are high heel high tops. I love them.
You all know I’m getting baby chickens the week of June 4th, right? I’m sooooo excited! I spend a fair number of my nights surfing the internet looking at chicken breeds. It’s like chicken porn. I’m obsessed. They are just so cool! I want one of each breed. I’m starting with four, but I’m already planning which I want to get next year. I even learned to make a chicken emoticon. ~(:>)= See, it’s bad.
This is also a new obsession. It’s a website where you can find deals on designer or unusual brands. They have lots of jewelry, shoes, home goods, skin care, and quirky things like bookmarks that look like the Wicked Witch of the East’s feet sticking out of your book (I ordered one of those). You go on the site and they tell you what the retail value is, then you get to peek at what the deal is. It’s like a little game. You can earn discounts and badges for various things like peeking, or sharing things on Facebook. I’ve received one of the things I’ve ordered so far and it was exactly as promised. If you’re interested in signing up and taking a look, there’s an affiliate button on my sidebar. I’ll get $0.50 if you sign up through my link, for full disclosure.
6. My new blender
I got this little Hamilton Beach blender at Target after seeing it at work (Hi, Kat).
It’s a single serving blender perfect for making green smoothies in the morning and then taking with me. There’s a sippy spout in the top, so you just take the blender, no need for cups. It’s tiny and doesn’t take up much counter space and the cord wraps really nicely around the base. Love.
Those are my current obsessions. What are yours? What can you not live without right now? I’m always on the look out for more to obsess over.
