For Labor Day we headed to Mammoth. We go every year, and every year I think it gets better. The girls are much easier to travel with these days and we’re not so bogged down by nap schedules. Although Mammoth is known for it’s skiing, it’s a great place in the summer too.
At the main lodge, you can mountain bike down the runs. They also have a kids area set up. Last year, my girls loved it. This year, lines were longer and the girls weren’t quite as enthused. No one went down the zip line. Last year I thought they were going to be sick going so many time.
Ella climbed the rock wall, and made it to the top.
Both Penny and Ella took a turn on the bungee trampoline.
The lakes are beautiful. The girls have Disney princess fishing poles. Sammy and Ella can cast pretty well. I have to do Penny’s. Then they reel them in to see if they got any seaweed. This year Sean bought some florescent pink sparkly super bait. The girls globbed it onto their hooks and then it fell in the water. So the fish got some good food out of it. Win-Win. We also took out my sister-in-laws canoe.
There’s a cute little artist’s fair. I got a little metal hummingbird to add to my garden. The girls did some crafts.
And there was face painting.
The best part though? Horses! (You knew it had to involve animals.) The girls are finally all old enough to go on the lead trails. So we took them all on a horse for the first time. Every one had a good time. And now
I the girls want a pony.
